Youth & Poetry
I was that boy.
Even as a kid I loved poetry. I wrote about anything and everything I could think of. I kept my poetry with me, all the things I wrote. Here are some that found their way into my class bulletin board at school.
Now that I've grown up and learned that I'm good with visual arts as well, I've found a way to marry both passions. It has been such an addiction for me that I've actually made six collections already. From this month onward I've decided to post these collections a day at a time, arranged the same way as they would be if they were in book form. I hope you enjoy these little snippets. They're little peepholes into my soul, after all.
Of Wet Things And Reading
Nowadays it's become cheaper to indulge in one of my favorite pastimes; curling up in bed and reading a good book. You don't even have to buy books anymore. If you're not bothered by piracy, you can go online and type your favorite author's name and just download his books from Torrent sites. After that, you can curl up in bed with your IPad.
I must admit, though, that printed matter has its unique charms. Reading a book on print, the smell of book paper and the feel of the paper on your fingertips as you turn the page has its perks.
It's like a rainy day or a cup of hot chocolate. It brings back memories of childhood for me. I go back to those sick days or those stormy days that I stayed home from school discovering the newest exploits of Frank and Joe Hardy. It takes me back to the quirky kids from Judy Bloom's world. I remember the adventures of Frances Hodgson Burnett's heroes and heroines.
I don't know what it is about rainy days that make me crave hot chocolate and a good book, but I do. In a way, all these reasons more than make up for the price of a printed book. Honestly, that little window into youth is priceless.

A Fresh Start
So it has come to this. Blogger has erased more than a year's worth of blogging everyday just like that. I know it's their prerogative and that I really can't do anything about it. Still, I can't help but feel that more than a year's worth of experiences have simply vanished from existence. In any case, it's my own fault for not backing up my writing. So I've decided from here on in I'll save all my little ditties, no matter how insignificant they may seem.
In any case, I've decided to put up my dukes and forge on. I've started this process by opening this new blog. I'm still trying to get a hang of the new interface and such, but in time I'm sure this'll turn out better than my previous blog. The difference? I'm more aware of how important this process actually is for me.
So I hope this is the start of a more fruitful blogging experience for me. Oh, and by the way, I've already saved these paragraphs on my hard drive...
