Apung Belen

One of my dreams is to open a little cafe named after my grandmother featuring her brand of Capampangan cooking. There would be our trademark Adobo Flakes, Sinigang Na Hito, Ginisang Giniling, Sampelut aside from my Lola's quirky breakfast dishes like Sauteed Tuna in Egg and Calamansi.

One step at a time...

Portrait From An Artist In Tam-Awan Village

Tam-awan Village is a sort of artists' commune about 20 minutes away from the main hub of Baguio City. We visited a few days ago and for 150PHP I had a sketch made of myself. It only took about ten minutes of sitting for the artist to finish this. All the while, she was taking care of her young daughter.

I'm not really sure how faithful this sketch is to my visage, but considering the time constraints and the fact that her daughter was running around toppling over things, I'd say kudos to the artist who made this.

Flora

BenCab himself was dining next to our table so I admittedly wanted him to see me doodling. Yes, I must confess I can sometimes be a bit of a fanboy.

Leaf

I was very inspired after visiting the BenCab Museum in Tuba, Benguet. A lot of the artworks spoke to me. I was so inspired that I started doodling right then and there while we waited for our lunch to be served at Café Sabel.

The View From Cafe Sabel

Inspired by the landscape in front of me, I started doodling away as I waited for my Cream Rice at Café Sabel inside the BenCab Museum. This was the first doodle I made.

Touchdown

We have just touched down in Baguio. The weather is perfect. Sunny but cold. Right now we're fixing up for our first day out. Our base of operations is PNKY's in Leonard Wood Rd. right in front of The Laperal House, deemed one of Baguio's most haunted locations. The room we're in is the Hideaway, quaint and unassuming.
We're deciding on breakfast before we head out on this little adventure of ours. Our trip is off to a pretty good start.
