A Strangely Foggy Manila Morning

A Strangely Foggy Manila Morning

Grey on grey on grey on grey,
Tones upon tones combining,
Momentarily unaware of where I lay,
I gaze upon the cold of the morning.

Devoid of the familiar bright sunlight,
The fog embraces the city.
It fills the air with its strange frozen bite,
Dulling the morning's cacophony.

I lay awake yet half-asleep,
Much like the streets beneath me
And I pray to the gods my soul to keep
As the grey swallows my city.
